STEAM TRAINS
 

Travel by steam train on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways.  Caernarfon is a great starting point.  Don't forget the narrow gauge steam railway runs along the shores of Lake Padarn at Llanberis too.

... the rugged mountain peaks and crystal clear lakes of Snowdonia. Discover the stunning countryside and coast of Anglesey and the LlÅ·n Peninsula with its golden sandy beaches and quiet coves. The local area has a wealth of outdoor activities on offer,  from zip wires to surfing, canoeing to mountain biking. There are numerous ancient sites, castles and museums steeped in Welsh history and heritage nearby.

CYCLING

A network of cycle routes are within easy reach of Nantlle and Snowdonia also has excellent mountain biking facilities. Bikes can be hired in Caernarfon.

WALKING AND HIKING

​

Snowdonia is renowned for its walking and climbing. Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa)  Wales's highest peak, is only a 30 minute drive away and there is an impressive network of footpaths to enjoy with breathtaking views. The Wales Coastal Path starts in Llanfairfechan and offers access to 180 miles of coastline via Aberdaron, Pwllheli down to Machynlleth.

 

ZIP WORLD VELOCITY

Zip World Velocity, Bethesda, is the fastest zip line in the world and the longest in Europe.  This adventure takes you on the Little Zipper to build your confidence before you journey up the quarry on the famous red trucks where you are told about the history of Penrhyn Quarry.  Take in the stunning views from the Big Top of Velocity, out towards Anglesey with views of the Isle of Man on a clear day!  You will then descend down the Big Zipper over the quarry lake often reaching speeds well in excess of 100mph.
